All bound in quarter-leather, gilt, by Wood of London for M.A. Stodart, showing minimal wear; top edges gilt. Front endpapers bear armorial bookplates of Elliott Lees with further ownership labels of M.A. Stodart to front pastedowns. Reverse of first endpapers and other endpapers foxed o/w fine internally without inscriptions / markings. The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments….with Illustrations by Gustave Dore, Cassell, Petter, and Galpin [1872-76], tall 4to, 2 vols., bound in full grained leather, gilt, by William Mansell (successor to James Hayday), with blind-tooled crucifix to front boards, a.e.g., marbled endpapers; some scuffing to boards, hinges requiring strengthening in places; fine internally with 238 full-page wood-engravings.
