Joseph Smith (translator) The Book of Mormon: An Account Written by the Hand of Mormon upon plates taken from the plates of Nephi, Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball and Parley F. Pratt, Liverpool, 1841, First European Edition, in a contemporary grained morocco binding with gilt ruling, a.e.g., gilt title & decorated compartments to backstrip, a little rubbed at extremities o/w fine; a couple of small fox marks to title page o/w fine internally, and free of inscriptions; the first European (and UK) edition of The Book of Mormon extremely scarce.

Bagster c.1920; the former in an exquisite blind-tooled & gilt design to front & back covers, backstrip with gilt titles and decorated compartments, a.e.g., showing just a hint of wear, endpapers with browning to perimeter; the latter in grained morocco, gilt ruling and title, a.e.g, some fading and small imperfections, the text with the occasional minor tone mark.
